I needed to safe solution to keep my cats from jumping over the side fence in our backyard. This solution was a fairly elegant and safe option for the cats. It was a bit of work to install but was worth the effort.
I was able to install about 280' of barrier net in about 2 days. It's a little tricky to get it tight with one persone but I was able to get it all up. Of couse I missed a spot and our grey girl promptly got out. She came back the next day but for a min there it was pretty scary. The hole was fixed and now no one gets out.
One problem was the epoxy didn’t stick — Could be a problem on our end. But it doesn’t seem to matter. our little Houdini is safe now —we hope He is a light weight cat -less than 10 lbs so he can easily pull himself up anywhere that there is an opening. Just have to figure out the gate area in picture below — we can’t use it with net attached —arms are blocked by house when opening out. But it is secure for now. Question — can the extenders be ordered separately. Have two arms that need to be extended.
A storm caused a tree to fall on a section of our Purrfect Fence, but remarkably, the only damage was to one of the poles. Customer service was incredibly helpful in ordering the necessary parts and shipped them to me at record speed. Thank you so much for caring about your customers! The fence is now repaired, and my kitties are happy!
My cat (Scottsdale) is an escape artist. Not a single day went by where he didn't find a way out of the house. Being an outdoor cat in Tucson is not optimal, as we have Coyotes, bobcats, javelinas, cars, etc. Our purrfect fence has been installed almost 6 months and it has worked perfectly. He sits on the wall and watches his kingdom. The fence has brought us so much peace of mind knowing he is safe but still able to scratch that itch to go outside. Now his twin, Glendale, goes out with him.
Installation was easy and straight forward. I was able to complete it in a couple of mornings, before temps got too hot to work outside. My cats cannot get out and although they are disappointed at not being able to run free, they are adjusting well. It gives me great peace of mind.
The brackets are up, and the rest will follow soon. I find the installation instructions very easy to follow. Products are of excellent quality. The rest is up to the cats. I'll take pictures soon. It takes a little longer for me because of the heat and my age, but I'll get there.
So far, this fence has worked exceptionally well at keeping our three cats safely contained in our yard, and we haven’t even sealed all the small potential escape routes yet. We’ve had it for a couple of months, and not one of them has managed to escape. Once the weather cools down, we plan to reinforce a few areas for added security.
Because I’m not handy whatsoever, I did have the fence professionally installed. Overall, it has been everything I hoped it would be and has lived up to all of its claims.
I was impressed with the quality of the hardware supplied - all heavy duty and it looks as if it will last a long time. I bought the 100 foot/30 metre kit with one extra spring-loaded arm.
My garden has hedges on all sides so the only option for me was to design a freestanding enclosure that left room for me to access the hedges for maintenance. Installation was a real challenge for me as the ground is very uneven and I had to design an irregular shape, as well as interface it with an existing catio. But once I got going it all started to make sense and I achieved a good result. A straight-sided enclosure with 90-degree corners would have been much easier to do, but would have resulted in a significantly smaller enclosure so I'm glad I put in the extra effort. The cats appreciate the unusual design, too.
The installation videos were helpful up to a point, but they only dealt with the relatively easy 90-degree corners and straight-sided designs. I would have preferred some guidance for trickier designs as it was really a case of trial-and-error for me. I didn't trim the netting or wire rolls as per the guidance, but managed to unroll the entire rolls in one piece, fixing them as I went. I was wary of making a mistake, so used garden plant ties to temporarily fix the netting in place to ensure that everything fitted well before fixing it permanently. I also bought the standard access gate but found that I needed to tie the hinge side to a tree stake to give it extra stability - probably due to the uneven ground and unusual shape of my enclosure.
I had a further complication that further delayed my installation and that was the discovery that the underground natural gas supply pipe did not run to the house along the expected course. I had to dig small exploration trenches to trace the route of the pipe as I didn't want to pierce this with the freestanding pole spikes, which are 2 feet/ 60cm long. Part of the pipe was buried just 30cm deep, whereas most was 60cm deep so it paid to be careful as any mishaps would have resulted in a very expensive bill from the gas network company for repairs. So do be careful if you are planning an enclosure anywhere near service pipes that run to your house.
All in all, I'm very pleased with the installation but it did take much longer than expected for the reasons described above.
I have multiple cats . They have a 12'x12' catio but I wanted them to be able to get out in the grass and more space outside . The fence gives them the opportunity to be in the sun and able to run wide open now .
My cats love it so much it’s so safe and yeah, I just changed both of our lives not to be corny but I highly recommend it to anybody who has a backyard
Over 9 years ago I bought a cat tree, the product is well made, until this day is still in great shape!!! Only needed to replace the bottom part of it because it was misplaced in our last move, I called them and they knew exactly what I needed and sent me the piece right away
This is our second one – the first was removed because of our recent backyard re-do. Our cats loved the first one although we kept the max height at just under 6 feet.
This time we sunk the sleeve in two 50 lb. bags of quickcrete. We used all sections of the post and added an additional (6th) step because our kitties are starting to get older . . . so the height of the top platform is the full 7' 4". I'm pretty pleased with the final installation and waiting for our cats to confirm this, LoL!
The base is incredibly solid but there is still a bit of flex in the post due to the nature of the hollow metal tubes used. I may need to dampen the flex a bit by connecting it to a nearby arbor with wire rope or something similar, but it all depends on what our feline family decides, right? We previously accomplished full dampening using a length of cheap vinyl clothsline cord.
The folks at Purrfect Fence did an outstanding job helping us out with a few minor issues with mis-drilled holes on the top platform pieces. They were aware of the issue and have promised to fix it and I know from experience this will happen swiftly – we previously purchased and installed nearly $2k of their fencing with good results over nearly 20 years during which we received great customer service and help customizing things to our needs.

it looks good and is “relatively” easy to assemble
For Corners, the instructions are quite basic and the video does not show anything for corners which is is the hardest part (only reason for a 4 star) would be a good idea to add a video inbstuction
The Deer fence is strong, but insists on curling at all stages, which again is very ackward in the corner, these still need a minor amendment which I plan to do when the weather improves
still it keeps the cat in the Garden his not escaped “Yet"
The Purrfect Fence existing fence kit exceeded our expectations. All the fittings and hardware are very heavy duty and should do their job for years to come. It looks good too!
A miracle! Both our cats are at peace finally to have known and set forth “boundaries”. First day our male cat pretty much lost his mind for 15 minutes doing pull ups along top fence edge looking over and trying to find a way out. Purrfect Fence is like magic. Out little female cat who is extremely talented and able to master everything we tried before, doesn’t even bother. Absolutely a miracle, My husband, cannot believe it, he is amazed. You have to understand he spent countless hours, along with money, engineering another system which they were able to master and wander to neighborhood. This is now day 3 with Purrfect Fence with no escaped cats but more than this, they have completely resolved to not attempt an escape for last day and half.
I'm 68 years old and over the past two months installed, without help, 650 linear feet of the free standing fence system, including five gates and vlad four trees with the anti-climbing barriers. The system is easy to install. I completed thr enclosure yesterday and released 14 kittens to explore the nearly half acre enclosure along with the 12 adults who were already outside. I'm plannning a second phase to expand my sanctuary to almost an acre with this wonderful fence system.
I had the conversion fencing for my existing fence in Arizona and it worked great at keeping my cats inside the yard. I now have the free standing fence in Georgia and it works just as good. The fencing material is much stronger making it a great alternative to a chain link fence. I’m happy and my cats are happy!
We have a little stray boy who adopte us. My husband installed a new fence and finally the Purrfect Fence (for me and my boy😉). It has given me peace of mind and much less worry. We have a large 4 year old cat and just got 2 kittens. My wife and daughter insist on keeping them as indoor cats. I don’t agree but I’m outnumbered! As a compromise, I bought the system to enclose our small patio. We currently have a small catio where the automatic pooper scooper is outside. I cut a small doggie\ cat door and the older cat goes out when he has to take care of business. We have 2 hawks that we know of in the neighborhood so I covered everything to prevent them coming in or our cats finding a way out. Now that the fencing is up, we plan to remove the catio and have complete access to the patio. So we will see how it works in the long term. The 2 kittens haven’t accessed it yet because we are waiting on the final shots.
It's true! I bought happiness in the form of a perfect fence device that protects my family. The Purr-fect Fencing system patented arms really are good working solution for containing and protecting pets from predators and other dangers. I'm on to my third adaptation of my "catio" as I expand and perfect my project. The arms are the secret to so much adaptability. The most simple designs are so often the most brilliant but simple often means the most well thought out. These are brilliant on every level. We had a very old containment system but our newest kitten was able to get out. We always want to be able to give our cats a good life where they can enjoy the backyard, chase lizards, roll in the grass and sleep in the sun. So we did some research and found this system. We had a handyman come and help us install it. Corners can be tricky but once we figured it out with the great instructions we got the new system up and our cats can no longer escape. It works! And the quality is top notch so I know this will last. We have a cement wall around our property. Please see the pictures if you have a wall like ours. We highly recommend this product. If you can, give the gift of the outdoors to your cats!
Fence in general create safe environment for the cats and peace of mind for the owner.Heavy duty corner post. Because two section of fence connected 90 degrees apart to corner post, it`s imperative to have an heavy duty post.
It wasn't easy to install due to objection reason, the way the yard outline. Of course with Mat the guru assistance I accomplished to the satisfaction of my client and me. I experienced issue with the gate but managed to solve it, Thank you
